November 30, 2011 Pinoy Struggles
Even though the Philippines has not been affected by the recent recession as much as other countries around the world, their is still concrete evidence of poverty that is going on around the country. We cannot deny the fact that money is still a big issue for a lot of families and pinoys. There are still plenty of kids that are homeless and are living in slums and on poor unhealthy conditions.
I always wondered what the overall impact of growing up very poor, has on these children when they grow up. There has to some kind of emotional and mental toll towards these children as they grow. These kids thrive as they grow up to achieve the basic necessities in life such as food and shelter. It is sad to know that even now (2011) at this moment of the century, even the basic needs of humans (food and shelter) can still be missing. Kids cannot raise themselves, that is a parent’s responsibilities… if a parent knows that he/she has a difficulty raising a child… then why HAVE the child in the first place.
